Bishops
Australian Adventures is a small owner operated adventure touring business specialising in 'soft adventure' itineraries. A small, modern fleet of highly specialised touring and support vehicles enables safe, comfortable travel into remote and rugged terrain where previously only the very adventurous traveller ever visited.
New tours scheduled in 2011 are: 11 Day 'Great Ocean Road, Grampians & Victorian High Country' and a 14 Day 'Arkaroola, Birdsville & Carnarvon Gorge' tour, both being fully accommodated. We will also be running a 13 Day 'Gunbarrel Highway-Pilbara-Broome' tour again after a break of 4 years, using our unique "Bush Lodge" accommodation. Along with these tours we have also scheduled the popular 16 Day 'Tasmanian Wilderness' and 12 Day 'Kimberley Adventure' tours and also our 'Canadian Arctic Adventure' & 'USA Road Trip' (to be confirmed in October 2010). |
Over the last year we have re-activated our local tour operation known as "Coolangatta's Bigfoot" a one hour tour of Coolangatta Estate near Berry NSW which is a former convict settlement and winery with spectacular coastal views. This is occupying much of our time due to it's popularity leaving us less time in the year for our touring program. As a consequence we will not be operating either the 'Cape York Adventure' or the 'Gulf Savannah' tours in 2011. We will continue to keep the prices of our tours very competitive through low overheads, selling directly and not paying for expensive advertising. Each one of our tours has been carefully planned to provide our passengers with the best and most enjoyable itineraries compiled through decades of touring experience. Some years ago we developed our "Bush Lodge" luxury camping facility providing our tour groups with the highest standard of comfortable, transportable accommodation. Using this innovation we can now accommodate tour groups in remote areas where accommodation is not available or far too expensive. |
Our tour vehicles reflect the refinement and development gained through our years of experience operating in the challenging conditions of the outback. They have numerous innovative and unique design features built into them for extra passenger comfort, safety and reliability. The combination of our specialised vehicles and unique "Bush Lodge" accommodation has opened up a whole new opportunity for many folk to be able to travel to locations that previously restricted adventure touring to the young, very fit or very adventurous traveller.
Bishops Australian Adventures is fully licensed and accredited. Owners, Bruce and Lindy Bishop are involved in many hospitality, tourism and coach industry associations. 2010 will be their 26th year of involvement with adventure touring. Bruce and Lindy participate personally in the tours ensuring a high standard by their direct involvement. They are supported by a very experienced and professional staff working together as a close team.
The tours outlined here are only a selection from the 2010/2011 program and all enquiries for special group charters are welcomed. Some tours are programmed using motel accommodation and these are especially popular with people who wish to experience a Bishops Australian Adventure in a small way before committing to a more adventurous tour.
