DAY 1:    TO DUBBO
Depart Nowra 6:00am with pick-ups at Wollongong 7:00am; Sutherland 8:30am; Strathfield Railway Station 9:30am then via the Blue Mountains (morning tea) and Bathurst (picnic lunch) and to Dubbo for our first night on tour in motel accommodation. Dinner tonight in the motel dining room.  (L,D)

DAY 2:    DUBBO - WHITE CLIFFS
We travel overland via Nyngan, Cobar and Wilcannia to the opal mining town of White Cliffs where we are joined on board the coach by a local guide who will show us around town and take us into a “dug out” house. Tonight's accommodation at the Dug Out Motel. (B,L,D)

DAY 3:    WHITE CLIFFS – TIBOOBURRA
Today we head northwest through the desert landscape and visit Milparinka where the explorer Sturt was stranded by drought and later where a brief gold rush occurred. Later we arrive in Tibooburra - the main service centre for outback sheep stations and nearby Sturt National Park - and settle in to our hotel accommodation for the next 2 nights (shared facilities). DAY 4:    TIBOOBURRA
A free day to enjoy the character of this little outback town which services the huge surrounding sheep stations and National Park. Tibooburra is famous for it’s high summer temperatures. See the 27ft replica of Sturt’s boat in the Pioneer Park, walk amongst the interesting granite tors that border the town or perhaps visit the local hotel and see the artworks painted by many famous artists who have previously visited town.  (B)

DAY 5:    TIBOOBURRA – CAMERONS CORNER – INNAMINCKA
From Tibooburra we head westward travelling through the Sturt National Park and via Fort Grey (where the explorer Sturt set up a base camp on his 1845 expedition to find the inland sea). At Cameron Corner, where the borders of Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia meet, we stop for photos and the time to enjoy this unique and remote place. The track to Innamincka is via the Moomba and Delta oil and gas fields. We settle in to the Innamincka Hotel (with shared facilities) near the Cooper Creek for the next 2 nights. (B,L,D)

DAY 6:    HIGHLIGHTS OF INNAMINCKA
We visit the new Geodynamics Information Centre set up in 2009 to display the provision of geothermal power to the community of Innamincka. The restored Inland Mission Hospital is also worth a visit as well as a stroll along the banks of the Cooper Creek. Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Cooper to the Cullyamurra Waterhole where the ill-fated explorers, Burke and Wills were stranded and eventually perished. (B,L,D)

DAY 7:    INNAMINCKA – THARGOMINDAH   
First highlight is a visit to the famous “Dig Tree” on the banks of the Cooper Creek before crossing over the “Channel Country” through outback Queensland to Thargomindah on the Bulloo River. Tonight we enjoy the character of this great little outback town with dinner and accommodation at the Thargomindah Hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 8:    THARGOMINDAH – NYNGAN        
We get away early today for the long drive through outback QLD and NSW to Nyngan. Our route takes us via Cunnamulla and Bourke. The last night on tour is in motel accommodation with dinner at the nearby Club. (B,L,D)

DAY 9:    NYNGAN – HOME
Return to Sydney via the Mitchell and Great Western Highways arriving at Strathfield Railway Station at 6:00pm; Sutherland 7:00pm; Wollongong 8:30pm; Nowra 9:30pm.   (B,L)
