Park - and settle in to our hotel accommodation for the next 2 nights (shared

DAY 4: TIBOOBURRA
A free day to enjoy the character of this little outback town which
services the huge surrounding sheep stations and National Park. Tibooburra is
famous for it’s high summer temperatures. See the 27ft replica of Sturt’s
boat in the Pioneer Park, walk amongst the interesting granite tors that
border the town or perhaps visit the local hotel and see the artworks painted
by many famous artists who have previously visited town. (B)
DAY 5: TIBOOBURRA – CAMERONS CORNER – INNAMINCKA
From Tibooburra we head westward travelling through the Sturt National Park and via Fort Grey (where the explorer Sturt set up a base camp on his 1845 expedition to find the inland sea). At
Cameron Corner, where the borders of Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia meet, we stop for photos and the
time to enjoy this unique and remote place. The track to Innamincka is via the
Moomba and Delta oil and gas fields. We settle in to the Innamincka Hotel (with shared facilities) near the Cooper
Creek for the next 2 nights. (B,L,D)

We visit the new Geodynamics Information Centre set up in 2009 to
display the provision of geothermal power to the community of Innamincka. The restored Inland Mission
Hospital is also worth a visit as well as a stroll along the banks of
the Cooper Creek. Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Cooper to the
Cullyamurra Waterhole where the ill-fated explorers, Burke and Wills were
stranded and eventually perished. (B,L,D)
