DAY 1: CAIRNS – COOKTOWN
Departing Cairns (Bus Zone, “City Place”, Cnr Lake &
Shield St – near Hides Hotel) at 8:00am. We begin our adventure with the scenic drive along the coastal route to Port Douglas and a morning tea stop at Mossman. Then up the range to Mt Molloy where we join the inland road to Cooktown. Highlights along the way include the famous Lions Den Hotel and the mysterious Black Mountain. On arrival in Cooktown we settle in to our “Bush Lodge” camp that has been erected ready for us by the support crew. (L,D)
DAY 2: COOKTOWN
This morning we spend on an entertaining guided tour of Cooktown with a real local ‘character’. Highlights such as a drive to the summit of Grassy Hill to the splendid lookout and visits to the historic wharf, botanical gardens, Chinese cemetery etc. The afternoon is free to enjoy at your own pace. DAY 3: COOKTOWN – MUSGRAVE STATION
Departing Cooktown we head northbound via the Battlecamp Ranges with several river crossings and visit the historic old Laura Station Homestead and then via Lakefield National Park
(with it’s beautiful lily covered lagoons) to Musgrave Station and our overnight “Bush Lodge” camp. (B,L,D)
DAY 4: MUSGRAVE - WEIPA
Today’s northbound journey is via the Peninsula Development Road to Weipa overlooking the Gulf of Carpentaria. The “Bush Lodge” is established in the tourist park with excellent facilities. (B,L,D)
DAY 5: WEIPA
The morning is spent touring the modern bauxite mining operation at Weipa. This afternoon is free. (B,D)
DAY 6: WEIPA – WENLOCK RIVER
The real adventure of travelling to the tip of Cape York begins today. At Wenlock River the “Bush Lodge” is established beside the historic Morton Telegraph Station. Time to walk the trail along the riverbank and perhaps you may spot a Palm Cockatoo. (B,L,D)
DAY 7: WENLOCK RIVER – LOYALTY BEACH
A full day of adventurous travel crossing creeks, sand drifts and watching varying vegetation from open woodland to rainforest. Late afternoon the mighty Jardine River is crossed by ferry and we reach our picturesque “Bush Lodge” accommodation established in Loyalty Beach Campground
(water front camp overlooking the Torres Strait). (B,L,D)
DAY 8: CAPE YORK
A free day to spend at leisure in camp, go fishing or as most folk choose to do, visit nearby Thursday Island for the day. (B,D)
DAY 9: CAPE YORK
Today is the climax to our tour. We drive to approximately one kilometre from the very tip of Cape York and take the unforgettable walk out across the headland to the most northerly point of the Australian mainland.

DAY 10: CAPE YORK – BRAMWELL STATION
Highlight today is a visit to Twin Falls where vast quantities of fresh water tumble across rock shelves creating natural spa pools (access is subject to suitable weather and track conditions). Tonight’s overnight stopover is on Bramwell Station. (B,L,D)
DAY 11: BRAMWELL STATION – HANN RIVER
Southbound today passing through huge isolated cattle stations to tonight’s final night on tour at Hann River. (B,L,D)
DAY 12: HANN RIVER – CAIRNS
First highlight today is a visit to the Quinlan Split Rock Galleries at Laura
(Aboriginal rock art) then via the rich farmlands of Lakeland Downs and the Atherton Tablelands, returning to Cairns approximately 5:30pm. (B,L)
